I thought it was time to try a similar experiment myself, one that would take one or two hours at max, and that was compatible with my Claude Code Max plan: I decided to write a Z80 emulator, and then a ZX Spectrum emulator (and even more, a CP/M emulator, see later) in a condition that I believe makes a more sense as “clean room” setup. Don't worry. We de-duplicate non-anonymous signatures automatically, and anonymous signatures within 24 hours (before personal data is deleted). Fast forward to late 2025, and my incomplete notes sometimes show up on the first page of search results for “sdf fonts”[1]! Surely that isn’t the best page on the topic. It would be better to point to library documentation or maybe one of the research papers about the topic. My page isn’t that good.
